Atefeh Anbari was born in 1981 in Tehran. I completed my studies in Art and Graphic Design at the University of Tehran and began my professional career in the arts from the outset. For me, art is a means of reinterpreting and recreating contemporary events and ancient narratives within the framework of global social and political conditions.
I worked professionally in Iran for a decade, followed by another decade in Turkey, where I collaborated as a Chief Creative Officer and Art Consultant with several renowned companies and holdings. In addition to leading creative direction, I played a key role in concept design for various collections and projects. These experiences provided me with a broader perspective on contemporary art and its connection to creative industries. In 2021, I moved to Belgium, where I have continued my artistic practice.
In recent years, I have participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Europe and the Middle East. In 2023, I held the solo exhibition Women and Wine, featuring paintings created with wine and ink. This year, I will also be participating in two biennials in Italy and Belgium. My works have been acquired by both private and public collections, and I have consistently sought to present art as a bridge between cultures and human narrative
